Connect Apple Ads

Invite Tapper to your Apple Ads organization, then connect its App Store ad accounts for Tapper Lift. Tapper reads the accounts and changes nothing in Apple Ads.

Apple Ads accounts connect on workspaces that have Tapper Lift, and Lift is the product that uses them. Apple Ads has no sign-in: you invite Tapper to your Apple Ads organization, and Tapper links that organization to your workspace. Only App Store ad accounts connect.

Before you start

  • You need the Owner or Admin role in the workspace. See Settings for what each role can do.
  • You need an account admin in Apple Ads to send the invitation.
  • An Apple Ads organization can be linked to one Tapper workspace at a time.

Invite Tapper

1
Open the connect page

In the sidebar, open Setup, then Ad accounts, and click Add ad account. The Add an account page opens. If your workspace has more than one protected entity, first pick the one the accounts belong to with the switcher under the workspace name. When you set up a new workspace, the Connect an ad account step has the same Apple Ads row.

2
Invite Tapper in Apple Ads

In Apple Ads, the account admin opens Account Settings > User Management and invites support@tapper.ai with the API Account Read Only role.

3
Tell Tapper you sent the invitation

On the Apple Ads row in Tapper, you can type your organization's name in Apple organisation name (optional) to help Tapper match your invitation. Click Done, I've invited you. The row then shows when you asked.

4
Tapper links your organization

Tapper links your Apple Ads organization to your workspace, usually the same day. When your workspace has one protected entity, the organization's App Store ad accounts then connect to it on their own, and the Apple Ads row lists them. With more than one protected entity, tell your Tapper team which one the accounts belong to, or connect them yourself.

Connect accounts yourself

Once your organization is linked, you can connect its accounts from the Apple Ads row.

1
Open the dialog

On the Apple Ads row, click Connect Apple Ads. The dialog lists each App Store ad account of your linked organization with its ID, organization, currency and time zone.

2
Pick the accounts

Select the accounts to connect, up to 50 at a time, and click Connect, or Connect 3 accounts when you select three.

3
Check the result

The dialog says how many accounts connected and lists any that did not, with the reason. Click Done, or Close when no account connected. When some accounts did not connect, Back to the list returns to the accounts.

An account already connected to this protected entity shows Connected. One connected to another protected entity of your workspace shows Connected elsewhere and cannot be selected. If the dialog says Some accounts may be missing, Tapper could not read every linked organization. Try again later.

To disconnect an Apple Ads account, contact your Tapper team.

What connecting does

  • Tapper reads your accounts through the API Account Read Only role you gave support@tapper.ai.
  • Every day, Tapper reads each account's reports: campaigns, ad groups, keywords, ads, search terms and impression share. When an account connects, Tapper also reads its earlier reports, up to three years back.
  • After an account connects, Tapper reads how it is set up: its campaigns, ad groups, keywords, negative keywords, ads and product pages, and up to six months of Apple's change history.
  • Connecting changes nothing in Apple Ads.
