Lift Products: groups, lines and plans

See which products earn and which waste spend, by group and by product line, and plan your budget around your best sellers.

Know which products earn and which waste spend. Lift Products reads your Google Ads product report, and your store's sales where a store is connected, and sorts products into groups, so you see what to push, what to leave and what to stop paying for.

Lift Products is the Products page in the Lift section. It shows where one of your Google Ads accounts is an online store account. With more than one such account, choose the one you want under Ad account.

The Products page

A line at the top says where the figures come from and the days they cover. Its help icon explains how they are worked out and what each group means. Export saves the list you are looking at.

Chips filter the list by group. Each chip shows how many products it holds, over the whole account:

  • Best sellers: in the top 25% of the account's products by conversion value over 30 days, with at least 3 conversions.
  • Under target: it sells, but its return is under the target of a campaign that showed it, or its cost per conversion is over that target.
  • No sales: no conversion in 30 days while spending at least what the account pays for one conversion.
  • Nobody sees it: fewer than 50 impressions in 30 days across the account's campaigns.
  • Hidden gems: products that earn well and are shown less than your typical product.
  • Also: Priority, Discounted, Slow sellers, Trending, Sold out, Comes back, New arrivals, The rest and On hold. A product on your merchandising list marked hold is kept out of every group.

One chip is on at a time. Click it again, or choose All products, to turn it off. A product is in one group, and the group is re-worked at the daily scan.

Merchandising list

The Merchandising list tab holds the products you want pushed, held or cleared, each with an end date. Add, change or remove one product at a time, or replace the whole list from a spreadsheet. Products move at the next daily scan.

Label feed

The Label feed tab sets how Lift labels your products in Merchant Center.

The best sellers plan

On the Best sellers card, See the plan opens a plan that runs your best sellers in a copy of each campaign, starting at their share of today's budget, so they keep it when the budget runs short. The total budget stays the same. Lift changes nothing in Google Ads: the copies are built by whoever runs your campaigns.

Product lines

A product line groups the products that belong together in your store, such as one phone model. It lets you see the money and the plan for that line on its own. Your Tapper team sets up the lines for your ad account. Where an ad account has no lines, the Products page looks as described above, and nothing about lines appears.

A product is in one line: the first that matches, or No line.

Where lines show

When an ad account has lines, three things appear on its Products page:

  • Products and By line tabs above the list.
  • Line chips beside the group chips. They read Product line, All lines, then one chip per line with its number of products, and No line last when it holds products. One chip is on at a time.
  • A Product line column in the table. Where the store has a cost on file for at least one product, a Margin column shows each product's own margin. A product with no cost on file shows a dash.

Export includes the Product line column.

The By line view

Choose By line to see the lines side by side. A sentence above the table says how many products there are and the days the figures cover. The table lists:

  • Product line: the line, with No line last.
  • Products: how many products the line holds, each counted once.
  • Best sellers: how many of them are best sellers.
  • Ad spend: what ran on the line's products, in the ad account's currency, with the lines that spent most first.

Click a row, or choose Show these products, to see that line's products on the Products tab.

See the plan

See the plan on a row opens the best sellers plan for that line alone. The best sellers in it are the line's own, so they differ from the Best sellers group, which counts the whole account. The plan changes nothing in Google Ads.

See the campaigns

See the campaigns on a row shows the campaigns that carried the line's products, platform by platform, Google Ads first and then Meta Ads. Each campaign shows its type (and Stopped where it is), how many of the line's products it carried and its ad spend.

  • Each platform is read in its own ad account's currency and over its own days, so no figure is added to another's.
  • A campaign that none of the line's products ran in is not listed.
  • For Google Performance Max, the asset groups and their listing groups are listed too. An asset group's ad spend is the whole group's over the same days, every product in it, not only the line's.
  • A platform that cannot be read for the line says Not read yet and lists nothing.

Lines and these views are read only. Nothing is changed on an ad platform.

Who can use it

Owners, admins and managers can open the Products page and the line views. See Settings.
